Hallmarking and Jewellery Care

I work in Sterling Silver 925. Pieces are hallmarked by the Assay Office in Edinburgh, where required (over 7.78 gms).

Jewellery Care

Please follow these guidelines for storing and cleaning your jewellery.

Silver and stones

Silver and semi-precious gemstones may be washed in warm, soapy water and dried on kitchen towel or with a soft cloth.

I also use the Bicarbonate of Soda method!

- Line a glass dish with aluminium foil

- Add 1 tablespoon of Bicarbonate of Soda

- Pour on freshly boiled water (the water needs to be boiling hot)

- Drop the piece in

- Some people add salt but I don't

- Leave for up to 30 minutes

- Rinse and pat dry with a towel

Tarnish may be removed with Silver Dip. Please try to avoid immersing stones in Silver Dip. Use a cotton bud to clean the silver area then rinse and dry.

Please store your jewellery out of direct sunlight in acid free tissue paper. Avoid spraying perfume etc directly on to your jewellery.

Silver and Jesmonite

Please store your jewellery out of direct sunlight in acid free tissue paper.

Jesmonite is a strong material but if dropped on a hard surface it can break or chip.

Your Jesmonite has been sealed and is splash proof only. Please don’t shower or swim in it.

Sprays, creams and perfumes may stain. Please allow creams to be fully absorbed into the skin before wearing your jewellery. My advice is to put your jewellery on last and remove it first.

Clean with a soft damp cloth and pat dry.

Silver elements can be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth. If you use a silver cleaner (dip), clean the silver area only, with a cotton bud and rinse and pat dry quickly.
